Leonardo, the prominent Italian defense and aerospace company, faces only a limited risk from a compensation claim filed by the family of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, the late owner of Leicester City Football Club, according to Equita Sim. Srivaddhanaprabha tragically lost his life in 2018 in a crash involving one of Leonardo's AgustaWestland AW169 helicopters. The family is seeking £2.15 billion in damages, citing loss of earnings and other factors.

Despite the substantial claim, Equita's analyst Martino De Ambroggi emphasizes that Leonardo's position remains strong. A comprehensive report published in September by the U.K.’s Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) did not identify any fault on Leonardo’s part. Furthermore, the report confirmed that the AW169 helicopter model meets all regulatory standards for design and production, and these helicopters continue to operate without restrictions.
